Plans are underway to launch the world’s first grasp’s diploma in enterprise administration in Indigenous Reconciliation on the College of Victoria’s Peter B. Gustavson Faculty of Enterprise.
The brand new program was revealed as a part of an $8.4-million funding announcement made by the Ministry of Social Growth and Poverty Discount July 8.
It’s being developed in collaboration with the B.C. Affiliation of Aboriginal Friendship Centres and can draw funding from Indspire, an Indigenous charity that invests within the schooling of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
“The MBA in Indigenous reconciliation is a robust instance of the critically essential programming that’s achievable once we comply with the Hul’qumi’num instructing Ts’its’uwatul’ tseep (to assist one another or working collectively),” UVic’s first vice-president Indigenous, Qwul’sih’yah’maht Robina Thomas stated in a press launch.
Providing a program of its sort is a part of UVic’s ongoing dedication and actions on reality, respect and reconciliation, and growing new pathways for Indigenous college students to increased schooling.
