Google introduced its Game Dashboard utility with Android 12 and initially, it was exclusive only to the Pixel 6 smartphone. Meanwhile, the utility is still exclusive to Pixel devices, but it has been updated with new features with Android 13 and along with Google Pixel 6, the tool is now also available on Pixel 6a.
According to a report by XDA Developers, the tech giant has started rolling out the new dashboard through the latest update of Google Play Services, bringing it to version 22.30. Users can also go through the settings menu to check the availability of the Game Dashboard menu.
What is new in the Game Dashboard update
As per the report, the updated Game Dashboard includes a range of in-game menu options on supported mobile devices. This new feature will be available when users launch a game with the menu enabled. Users are expected to find a small arrow on the right-hand or left-hand side of the display, the report suggests. A game controller icon will appear when users tap on this arrow which will ultimately fire up the Game Dashboard settings menu.

The menu will also include — a dedicated do no disturb, frame rate counter, screen recording, and a screenshot shortcut button. Users can get quick access to these tools by enabling some of these options which will now appear as part of the overlay on the Game Dashboard button, the report states.
Apart from these shortcuts, the in-game menu will also have an option to stream directly to YouTube Live and a game optimisation tool. The Dashboard will not offer users ways to tweak the settings within these menus, however, this tool will make it simpler for users to access some of the more commonly used gaming tools, the report claims.
How Google is trying to include this tool in other devices
Previous reports suggest that Google was trying to include the Game Dashboard option on devices that don’t belong to the Pixel lineup. The report suggests that the company will have to bring the Game Dashboard into Google Play Services to achieve this goal.

Earlier, this service used to reside in SystemUIGoogle, however, the tool has been migrated to Play Services with Android 13. Recently, Google has also confirmed the availability of Game Dashboard on devices that are not a part of the Pixel lineup, but it didn’t mention the handsets the tool would be coming to, the report adds.
