Bhubaneswar: Common Application Form (CAF) for students, who want to take admission in Plus III first year in degree colleges of the state, is available on student academic management system (SAMS) website from Thursday. Till 7.30 pm, more than 12,000 students registered their names for admission. Out of which, over 6,000 students paid fees online.

Each applicant must register and create their own username and password in the SAMS portal ( prior to filling the degree online application. They can click the degree (+3) section from the SAMS dashboard and go to ‘Student Login’ icon.

From the login screen, students can get both ‘New Student Login’ and Existing Student Login. “If you are an existing user, then login to the system using your mobile number and password and follow the steps. For new users, they need to Sign Up with name, mobile number and email ID.

On successful registration, students can Sign In with their registered mobile number and password. It will lead to a SAMS degree college admission dashboard displaying the list of important menus in the left column along with the important announcements and dateline for the online activities with respect to admission.

The students can fill up the application form with all required details including weightage, reservation, address and bank account along with uploading their passphoto. After submitting CAF successfully, the students will be redirected to CAF payment. After payment is done, they can print the CAF. They can also download the intimation letter after this process. They are required to carry the certified true copies of the certificates at the time of admission from where intimation is received.

Last date of applying online is August 25. First merit list will be published at 11am on August 31. Admission of students selected in this merit list will start from September 2 and continue till September 5.

Second selection merit list will be published at 11am on September 11. Selected students can take admission between September 12 and September 14. After the first and second selection, a list of vacant seats will be published in SAMS website and respective institution’s e-space at 2pm on September 16.

The applicants, who fail to get a seat in the first and second selection, can apply for Spot admission on September 19, 20 and 21. Admission process will be completed on September 29, official sources said.
